Remote Senior Process Optimization Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced and results-oriented Remote Senior Process Optimization Engineer to join their globally distributed team. This position focuses on enhancing the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of our client's chemical processes through advanced analysis and strategic implementation, all managed remotely. You will leverage data analytics, simulation tools, and your deep engineering expertise to identify opportunities for improvement across various facilities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, adept at virtual collaboration, and possesses a strong track record in optimizing complex chemical operations from anywhere in the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze process data from multiple sites to identify areas for optimization in terms of yield, energy consumption, and throughput.
• Develop and implement process improvement strategies using advanced modeling, simulation, and statistical analysis techniques.
• Collaborate virtually with site engineers, operations managers, and R&D teams to implement and validate process changes.
• Design and oversee pilot studies or plant trials to test optimization strategies remotely.
• Develop comprehensive reports and present findings and recommendations to senior management and site teams.
• Ensure all proposed optimizations align with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company objectives.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering, with a significant focus on optimization and troubleshooting.
• Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
• Proven ability to work effectively and independently in a remote setting, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of process control, safety management systems, and environmental compliance.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and virtual collaboration skills.
