Industrial Engineer - Manufacturing Excellence

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-oriented Industrial Engineer to champion Manufacturing Excellence within their facility in Port Elizabeth . This role is critical for driving continuous improvement, optimizing production processes, and enhancing overall operational efficiency and product quality. You will work hands-on with production teams, analyzing workflows, implementing Lean principles, and ensuring the highest standards of productivity and safety. This on-site position requires a dedicated professional committed to driving tangible improvements in a manufacturing setting, contributing to the company's reputation for quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency gains, waste reduction, and cost savings.
• Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, VSM, and Kanban.
• Develop and optimize production layouts, workflows, and material handling systems.
• Design and conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work times.
• Collaborate with production supervisors and operators to implement process changes and improvements.
• Track and report on key manufacturing performance metrics (e.g., OEE, cycle time, throughput).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Experience with process mapping, time studies, and workplace organization (5S).
• Proficiency in relevant software, including CAD for layout design and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent observational skills and the ability to work effectively on the factory floor.
