About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified Mine Surveyor to join their team near Klerksdorp , operating on a hybrid model. This role is essential for accurately mapping mine boundaries, monitoring excavations, and ensuring compliance with spatial regulations. You will perform both field surveys and office-based data processing and reporting, working closely with mine planning and operations teams. This position offers a blend of field work and remote analysis, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to the safety and efficiency of mining operations in a key mining hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct topographic and underground surveys using total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
- Establish and maintain survey control networks within the mine site.
- Monitor and record excavation progress, volumes, and stope dimensions.
- Prepare survey plans, cross-sections, and digital terrain models.
- Ensure adherence to legal survey requirements and mine plan specifications.
Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably in mining.
- Proficiency with surveying instruments and software (e.g., Trimble, AutoCAD, LSS).
- Knowledge of relevant mining legislation and survey standards.
- Valid driver's license and ability to work both on-site and remotely.
