Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer to join their team in Soweto . You will develop and implement NLP models and applications to extract insights from text data, build conversational AI systems, and enhance natural language understanding capabilities. This role involves leveraging advanced NLP techniques, machine learning, and deep learning to solve complex language-related challenges. You will collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to integrate NLP solutions into various products and services in a hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy NLP models for tasks such as text classification, sentiment analysis, and named entity recognition.
• Build and refine language understanding systems, chatbots, and virtual assistants.
• Perform feature engineering and data preprocessing for text data.
• Utilize machine learning and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) for NLP tasks.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate NLP functionalities into applications.
• Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in NLP and related fields.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Natural Language Processing.
• Proficiency in Python and NLP libraries (e.g., NLTK, spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers).
• Experience with deep learning models for NLP, such as LSTMs, GRUs, and Transformers.
• Familiarity with text data processing and representation techniques.
• Strong understanding of machine learning principles.
