About the Role

Our client is looking for a creative and experienced Lead Makeup Artist to head their artistic team in their flagship salon in Cape Town, Western Cape . You will be responsible for creating stunning makeup looks for various clients, overseeing junior artists, and ensuring the highest standards of artistry and client satisfaction. This role requires a blend of technical skill, artistic vision, and leadership capabilities, offering a chance to work on diverse projects from bridal and editorial to special events, contributing to the creative direction and reputation of a leading beauty establishment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute unique makeup designs for clients, ensuring their vision and needs are met.
• Lead and mentor a team of junior makeup artists, providing guidance and quality control.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends in makeup artistry, techniques, and product innovations.
• Manage the makeup department's inventory, ensuring all necessary products and tools are available and maintained.
• Collaborate with stylists and photographers for photoshoots and special client events.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a professional Makeup Artist with a strong portfolio.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in a wide range of makeup application techniques for diverse skin types and occasions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively consult with clients and manage a team.
• A creative flair and a keen eye for detail, color, and facial aesthetics.
