Industrial Electrician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Industrial Electrician to join their maintenance team in Upington. This role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within their industrial facility. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all electrical components, supporting production continuity. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, a thorough understanding of electrical codes and safety practices, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship in a demanding industrial environment, contributing to the operational reliability of the plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, power distribution, and control equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and diagnose faults in machinery and control panels.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to prevent failures.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Assist in the upgrade and modernization of plant electrical systems as required.

Requirements

• Trade qualification as an Electrician (e.g., Wireman's License).
• Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing or plant environment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, VFDs, and PLC controls.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, local regulations).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
