About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive HSE Engineer to join their operational team supporting oil and gas activities in the Polokwane region. This role is paramount to ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across all company operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing HSE policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture. This is a critical position for an experienced professional dedicated to maintaining safe and compliant operations within the Limpopo province's energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE management systems and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
- Identify potential hazards and risks, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Deliver HSE training to employees and contractors.
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
- Ensure environmental compliance and manage waste disposal procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE management within the oil and gas industry.
- NEBOSH or similar HSE certification is highly desirable.
- Proven knowledge of relevant HSE legislation and best practices.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and incident investigation techniques.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
