About the Role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with extensive experience in aerospace components to join their fully remote team, supporting operations in Benoni. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for aerospace applications, focusing on reliability and performance under extreme conditions.
• Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX) for complex 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
• Conduct advanced FEA , CFD, and vibration analysis to ensure structural integrity and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, manufacturing, and quality assurance, in a remote setting.
• Manage design reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and ensure compliance with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100).
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design, with a significant focus on aerospace components.
• Expertise in advanced 3D CAD software and industry-standard FEA/CFD tools.
• Deep understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and relevant industry regulations.
• Proven ability to work effectively and autonomously in a fully remote , collaborative team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
