Aircraft Line Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic airline operating out of East London, is seeking a skilled and motivated Aircraft Line Maintenance Technician. This position is crucial for ensuring the safety and airworthiness of aircraft during transit and overnight stops. You will perform a range of tasks, including scheduled checks, defect rectification, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems to ensure aircraft are ready for flight. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently under time constraints in a ramp environment. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine line maintenance checks (A-checks, transit checks, overnight checks) on various aircraft types.
• Troubleshoot and repair aircraft system defects as reported by flight crew or through scheduled inspections.
• Interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and maintenance instructions to perform repairs accurately.
• Replace defective parts and components according to approved procedures.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks are accurately documented in the aircraft logbook and maintenance records.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment on the ramp and in the hangar.
• Collaborate effectively with flight crew, dispatch, and other maintenance personnel.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in aircraft line maintenance.
• Experience with common commercial aircraft types (e.g., Boeing, Airbus) is advantageous.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding technical manuals and aircraft schematics.
• Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety procedures related to line maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant trade certification or qualification in aircraft maintenance is required.
