About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and supportive Addiction Recovery Coach to join their team in Nelspruit . This role is focused on providing practical, non-clinical support to individuals navigating their journey of recovery from substance abuse or other addictions. You will work face-to-face with clients, helping them set and achieve recovery goals, build life skills, and connect with necessary resources within the community. This position requires empathy, patience, and a strong belief in the client's ability to achieve sustained recovery. You will be a key figure in helping individuals rebuild their lives and foster a sense of hope and purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one coaching and support to individuals in recovery.
- Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans and goal-setting strategies.
- Help clients identify and overcome barriers to their recovery progress.
- Connect clients with community resources, support groups, and treatment providers.
- Empower clients to develop life skills, improve self-esteem, and re-enter the community.
- Maintain client confidentiality and document progress notes accurately.
Requirements
- Personal experience with recovery from addiction, or significant experience in a supporting role.
- Certification as an Addiction Recovery Coach or equivalent training is highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and resilience.
- Knowledge of addiction, recovery principles, and local support services.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
