Cybersecurity Analyst - Threat Intelligence

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Cybersecurity Analyst with a specialization in Threat Intelligence to join their expanding security operations center in Rustenburg. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and reporting on emerging cyber threats and threat actors that could impact the organization. Your insights will be crucial in shaping defensive strategies and enhancing the company's overall security posture. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of cybersecurity, contributing to the protection of critical infrastructure and data within the mining and industrial sector relevant to Rustenburg.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and analyze threat intelligence data from various sources, including open-source, government, and commercial feeds.
• Identify and track active threat actors, their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and their likely targets.
• Develop threat profiles and reports to inform security teams and executive leadership about potential risks and mitigation strategies.
• Integrate threat intelligence into existing security tools and processes, such as SIEM, SOAR, and firewalls.
• Conduct research on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and geopolitical events that could impact the organization's security.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Intelligence Studies, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in threat intelligence analysis, cybersecurity operations, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of cyber threat landscapes, attacker methodologies, and geopolitical influences on cyber threats.
• Proficiency in using threat intelligence platforms and tools, as well as data analysis techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex threat information clearly and concisely for various audiences.
