About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on and experienced Construction Foreman to supervise civil works projects in Port Elizabeth . This role is critical for ensuring the efficient and safe execution of daily site activities. You will lead a crew of construction workers, coordinate tasks, and ensure that all work is performed according to project plans and safety standards. The ideal candidate is a practical leader with a strong work ethic and a deep understanding of civil construction processes, committed to quality workmanship and site safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise the daily activities of the construction crew, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with project plans , specifications, and safety regulations.
- Operate and manage construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce all site safety protocols to minimize accidents.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site, managing materials and equipment effectively.
- Report on daily progress, including labor, materials, and equipment used, to the site supervisor or project manager.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure it meets quality standards and addresses any issues that arise.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or similar supervisory role in civil works.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, civil engineering principles, and safety best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
- Valid driver's license and a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance is a plus.
