About the Role

Our client is offering an exciting Apprentice Artisan position focused on Welding for individuals based in or willing to commute to Klerksdorp . This program is designed to train aspiring welders in various welding techniques and practices, leading to a trade qualification. You will learn to interpret technical drawings, prepare materials, and perform high-quality welds on different types of metals and structures. This hands-on role is essential for developing the skills required for a successful career in fabrication and manufacturing, working under the guidance of certified welding instructors and experienced artisans.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and practice various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
• Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and cutting.
• Read and interpret welding blueprints and technical specifications.
• Perform welding tasks on a variety of materials and structures according to quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Science.
• A strong interest in welding and metal fabrication.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work safely and follow instructions meticulously.
• Commitment to completing the required technical training and workplace experience.
