Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and commission protective relay schemes for various power system equipment, including transformers, generators, and transmission lines.
• Develop and implement testing procedures for protective relays and control systems to ensure proper operation.
• Analyze fault records and system disturbances to determine root causes and recommend improvements to protection strategies.
• Provide technical support to field operations and maintenance personnel regarding protection issues.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in power system protection technologies and standards.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems Protection.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in power system protection engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of protection principles, relay technologies (e.g., SEL, GE, ABB), and application settings.
• Experience with power system simulation software and fault analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of substation design, operations, and safety practices in Randburg .
