Our esteemed global client is an international multi-disciplinary engineering, project delivery and operations management group, predominantly focused on the mining, minerals and metals industry. With an extensive track record spanning four decades across a wide range of commodities.
We are looking for an experienced Instrument Designer for a driven professional with a strong instrumentation design background to contribute to major mining and minerals processing projects. This role is based in Johannesburg.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce instrumentation design drawings and documentation in accordance with project and client requirements.
- Develop instrument location plans, cable schedules, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Maintain and update instrumentation databases and design records.
- Coordinate with electrical, process, mechanical, and control systems disciplines.
- Review vendor documentation and incorporate relevant information into project designs.
- Support project execution, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and quality requirements.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
- Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- AutoCAD.
- MicroStation.
- Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI).
- Or similar instrumentation design software.
- Proven experience as an Instrument Designer within mining, minerals processing, industrial, or EPCM project environments.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation and control systems design.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
