Senior Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their innovative team in Mossel Bay. This role is pivotal in overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the manufacturing process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, implementing advanced manufacturing techniques, and mentoring junior engineering staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for technological advancement in a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technologies to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
• Analyze manufacturing data to identify areas for improvement, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure adherence to all quality and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing issues, implementing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design, R&D, and quality assurance teams to support new product introductions and process validations.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a significant portion in a senior capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proven experience with process automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
