Receiving Clerk

About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to manage incoming shipments at their facility in Soweto . This role is fundamental to accurate inventory management and efficient warehouse operations. You will be responsible for accurately receiving goods, inspecting them for damage, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and ensuring all items are properly logged into the inventory system. The ideal candidate is organized, possesses strong observational skills, and can work efficiently in a busy warehouse environment, contributing to the overall accuracy and flow of inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive all incoming shipments, verifying contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
• Inspect goods for any damage or discrepancies, documenting and reporting issues as necessary.
• Accurately enter received items into the inventory management system.
• Organize and store received goods in designated warehouse locations.
• Assist with unloading trucks and operating receiving equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a receiving, warehousing, or inventory control role is preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording information.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory software is a plus.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
