Maintenance Technician - Manufacturing Plant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support the operational efficiency of their manufacturing plant in Mossel Bay. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of industrial machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe working conditions. This hands‑on role requires a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively. The successful candidate will contribute directly to the plant's productivity and longevity by maintaining equipment in optimal working order.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment according to established guidelines.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on production machinery.
• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and breakdowns, performing emergency repairs as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment history.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals , blueprints, and technical diagrams to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Technical qualification or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair diverse types of industrial machinery.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools , as well as diagnostic equipment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
