About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Montessori Nanny and Early Learning Facilitator to join their household in Cape Town. This unique position focuses on nurturing a child's natural curiosity and independence through the principles of the Montessori method. You will be responsible for creating a prepared environment, guiding children through self-directed activities, and fostering their cognitive, social, and emotional growth. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and committed to supporting a child's holistic development in a home setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement Montessori principles in daily activities, encouraging self-directed learning and exploration.
• Prepare and maintain a child-friendly environment with accessible, organized learning materials.
• Guide children through practical life skills, sensorial exercises, and language development activities.
• Observe and document each child's progress, interests, and developmental needs.
• Supervise children during play, meals, and rest periods, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Engage with children in meaningful conversations and activities that promote critical thinking and problem-solving.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a nanny or childcare provider, with a strong understanding of the Montessori philosophy.
• Formal training or certification in Montessori education (e.g., AMI, AMS) is a significant advantage.
• Excellent observational skills and the ability to adapt activities to individual child's needs.
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with young children.
• Proficiency in basic first aid and child safety procedures.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with parents about the child's development.
