Manufacturing Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead their operations in Upington, Northern Cape. This senior leadership position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing plant, including production, quality, safety, and efficiency. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies to optimize operations, drive continuous improvement, and achieve key business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in manufacturing management, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of success in a demanding industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all aspects of the manufacturing plant operations, including production, quality control, maintenance, and supply chain.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of department managers and supervisors.
• Implement and champion Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage the plant budget, control costs, and optimize resource allocation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing management.
• Proven experience in leading large teams and managing complex operations.
• Strong understanding of operations management, supply chain principles, and financial management.
• Demonstrated success in implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement programs.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
