Recreational Sports Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is looking for an energetic and experienced Recreational Sports Supervisor to manage their sports programs and facilities in Upington. You will be responsible for the effective operation of various recreational leagues, tournaments, and activities, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and well-organized experience for participants of all ages and skill levels. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a passion for community sports engagement. You will supervise staff and volunteers, manage facility schedules, and implement program policies to uphold the highest standards of recreational sports delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, implementation, and supervision of diverse recreational sports programs and events.
• Manage and schedule facility usage, ensuring optimal availability and readiness for all activities.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise part-time staff and volunteers involved in sports programs.
• Enforce rules and regulations, ensuring participant safety and upholding sportsmanship.
• Assist in budget management, inventory control, and the procurement of necessary sports equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in coordinating or supervising recreational sports programs.
• Knowledge of various sports rules, regulations, and best practices in recreational programming.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
