About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Pharmaceutical Production Supervisor to lead their manufacturing team in Upington. This role is critical for overseeing daily production operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and driving efficiency in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. You will be responsible for managing a team of technicians and operators, ensuring compliance with GMP, and optimizing production processes to meet company targets. This position offers the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities within a growing pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production personnel to ensure efficient and safe execution of manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure all production activities are conducted in strict accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SOPs, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor production schedules, equipment performance, and product quality, intervening as necessary to resolve issues.
  • Train and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage material flow, inventory levels, and timely completion of batch records and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Maintenance departments to resolve operational challenges and implement process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical production processes, equipment, and GMP requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, batch records, and SOPs.
