Grant Writer and Development Officer

About the Role

Our client, a respected charity operating in Polokwane , seeks a skilled Grant Writer and Development Officer . This critical role is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, crafting compelling grant proposals, and supporting overall fundraising efforts to ensure the sustainability of our client's mission. You will play a key part in securing the financial resources necessary to deliver vital services and expand outreach within the Limpopo province. This hybrid position allows for focused writing and research remotely, complemented by in-person meetings and community engagement in and around Polokwane .

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify potential grant funding opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and corporations.
• Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals, applications, and reports.
• Develop and maintain relationships with potential and current funders.
• Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information and ensure proposal alignment with project goals.
• Manage grant reporting requirements and ensure timely submission of all necessary documentation.
• Assist in developing and implementing broader fundraising strategies, including donor cultivation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a grant writer or in a similar development role within the non-profit sector.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Demonstrated success in securing grant funding.
• Strong research and analytical abilities to identify suitable funding prospects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with grant databases or CRM systems.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple deadlines.
