Chemical Engineer - Quality Assurance

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Chemical Engineer to join their Quality Assurance team in Soweto . This role is vital in ensuring that all products and processes meet rigorous quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will be involved in developing and implementing quality control procedures, analyzing product data, and working with production teams to address any quality deviations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of product integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
• Perform routine testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
• Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with production and R&D teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, GMP).
• Conduct internal audits and support external regulatory inspections.
• Prepare quality reports and maintain accurate quality records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related science discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within the chemical industry.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and statistical process control (SPC).
• Experience with analytical instrumentation and laboratory techniques.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements relevant to the chemical sector.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
