Event Planner - Sports & Entertainment

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and creative Event Planner to specialize in sports and entertainment events in the vibrant hub of Sandton . This role involves the end-to-end management of diverse events, from conceptualization and budgeting to execution and post-event analysis. You will be responsible for creating memorable experiences, ensuring seamless operations, and managing relationships with vendors, sponsors, and stakeholders to deliver successful events that captivate audiences in Gauteng .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of sports and entertainment events, including tournaments, festivals, and corporate functions.
• Develop detailed event plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
• Source and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors, negotiating contracts and service levels.
• Oversee event logistics, including venue selection, setup, staffing, security, and audiovisual requirements.
• Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to drive event attendance and engagement.
• Manage on-site event operations, ensuring smooth execution and addressing any issues promptly.

Requirements

• Proven experience in event planning and management, with a strong portfolio of sports or entertainment events.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
• Proficiency in event management software and budgeting tools.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
