Construction Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-oriented Construction Manager to oversee construction projects from planning through to completion in the Benoni area. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. You will be responsible for coordinating with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project success. This hybrid position allows for strategic remote planning and coordination, combined with essential on-site supervision and client interaction, demanding a leader who can navigate both the virtual and physical project landscape with expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, scheduling, and budget management.
• Oversee and coordinate all construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Manage and mentor project teams, including site supervisors and subcontractors.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
• Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings to monitor project performance and address issues.
• Ensure all projects comply with local building codes, regulations, and environmental standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully completed projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contract administration, and risk management.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively manage hybrid work schedules and on-site operations.
