About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Lean Industrial Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives at their facility in Port Elizabeth . This hybrid role offers the chance to apply your expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency. You will work closely with production teams, management, and other engineering disciplines to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and foster a culture of proactive problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate Lean Manufacturing projects, such as Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and 5S implementation.
- Analyze production data to identify areas of waste and inefficiency in terms of time, materials, and resources.
- Develop and implement process improvements to reduce lead times, improve quality, and lower operational costs.
- Train and mentor production staff on Lean principles and continuous improvement techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes and best practices.
- Standardize work procedures and develop robust documentation for all implemented improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principles and tools in an industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and waste reduction strategies.
- Proficiency in data analysis, process mapping, and problem-solving techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
