Distribution Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Distribution Operations Manager to oversee and enhance their distribution network. This role involves managing warehouse operations, optimizing distribution processes, and leading a team to ensure efficient and timely order fulfillment. You will play a key role in improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and maintaining high standards of service. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a balance between on-site management of distribution centers and remote strategic planning and team coordination in Bloemfontein .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily warehouse and distribution center operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory management and order fulfillment processes.
• Lead, train, and mentor warehouse and distribution staff.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs ) and implement improvements to meet operational goals.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the distribution environment.
• Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to align distribution activities with business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in warehouse and distribution management.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage a diverse workforce.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with transportation logistics and route optimization is advantageous.
