Intellectual Property Lawyer

Our client is building a cutting-edge remote legal team and is seeking a specialized Intellectual Property Lawyer to manage and protect its valuable IP portfolio. This role is crucial for advising on patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters, as well as managing IP-related agreements and disputes. You will work closely with R&D, marketing, and product development teams to identify, secure, and enforce IP rights. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and extensive experience in IP law, capable of thriving in a fully remote, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights globally.
• Conduct IP due diligence for potential acquisitions, partnerships, and licensing opportunities.
• Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements, including licenses, assignments, and R&D collaborations.
• Manage the patent and trademark application and prosecution process.
• Advise on IP compliance, infringement risks, and dispute resolution strategies.
• Conduct freedom-to-operate analyses and provide opinions on IP matters.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court with a minimum of 6 years of specialized experience in Intellectual Property law.
• Strong technical background (e.g., in STEM fields) is highly advantageous.
• Proven experience in IP prosecution, transactions, and litigation support.
• In-depth knowledge of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret law.
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively and autonomously in a remote setting.
