Head Athletic Trainer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Head Athletic Trainer to lead their sports medicine department in Benoni . This senior role involves overseeing the provision of athletic care, injury prevention, and rehabilitation services for student-athletes. You will manage a team of athletic trainers, develop comprehensive care plans, and collaborate closely with physicians and coaching staff to ensure the health and well‑being of all athletes. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional leadership qualities, a deep understanding of sports injuries, and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the athletic training room and manage the athletic training staff.
• Develop and implement comprehensive injury prevention and rehabilitation programs for athletes.
• Provide immediate care for athletic injuries during practices and competitions.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals on diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all student-athletes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Athletic Trainer , with significant experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Current BOC certification and state licensure.
• Expertise in injury assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
