Information Security Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Information Security Officer to be based in George . You will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of security measures designed to protect sensitive data and systems. This role requires a proactive individual who can identify potential security vulnerabilities and implement appropriate countermeasures to prevent unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction. You will work closely with various departments to ensure security protocols are understood and adhered to across the organization, contributing to a secure and stable operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to protect information assets.
• Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify risks and compliance gaps.
• Manage security awareness training programs for all employees.
• Oversee the incident response process, including investigation, containment, and remediation.
• Implement and maintain security controls, such as access management and data loss prevention (DLP) solutions.
• Stay current with emerging security threats and technologies to ensure robust protection.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Information Security Officer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with security technologies and tools, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant security certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH) are a plus.
