Senior Mechanical Engineer - Structural Analysis

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in structural analysis to join their team in Polokwane. Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS).
• Validate simulation results through theoretical calculations and experimental data comparison.
• Interpret analysis results and provide clear, actionable recommendations to design and product development teams.
• Develop and refine analysis methodologies and best practices.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers in performing structural simulations and data interpretation.
• Contribute to the design process by providing early-stage analysis feedback to ensure structural integrity and performance.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with a specialization in structural mechanics.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands‑on experience in FEA and structural analysis.
• Expert proficiency with leading FEA software packages.
• Strong theoretical understanding of solid mechanics, material science, and failure modes.
• Experience with dynamic analysis, fatigue analysis, and non-linear analysis is highly desirable.
• Excellent technical communication and reporting skills.
