Chemical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Chemical Engineer with a focus on Product Development to join their team in Randburg. This role operates under a hybrid model, combining on-site collaboration with remote flexibility. You will be instrumental in the research, design, and commercialization of new chemical products. Your responsibilities will span from initial concept development and laboratory testing to pilot-scale trials and supporting manufacturing scale-up. We are looking for an innovative thinker with a strong understanding of chemical principles and a passion for bringing new solutions to market, contributing significantly to the company's product portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of new chemical products from concept through to market launch.
• Conduct laboratory-scale experiments, formulation development, and performance testing.
• Design and execute pilot plant trials to validate process parameters and product quality.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product commercialization.
• Prepare technical documentation, including product specifications, safety data sheets, and manufacturing instructions.
• Troubleshoot issues encountered during product development and scale-up phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• 3-5 years of experience in product development, R&D, or process engineering within the chemical industry.
• Demonstrated experience in formulation, synthesis, and analytical techniques.
• Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of intellectual property and regulatory requirements for new product introduction.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
