About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead AI Data Scientist to spearhead their data science initiatives within a fully remote setting. This pivotal role involves guiding a team of data scientists and collaborating with engineering and product teams to develop and deploy cutting-edge AI solutions. You will be responsible for defining the data science strategy, mentoring team members, and ensuring the successful execution of complex projects that drive significant business value. We are looking for a thought leader with a deep understanding of AI/ML and a passion for innovation, capable of leading a team in a distributed, high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of data scientists in the development of AI and machine learning models.
  • Define and execute the company's AI and data science strategy and roadmap.
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects, from problem definition to deployment.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify opportunities for AI integration.
  • Drive research into new AI methodologies and technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Communicate complex findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data science, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team lead role.
  • Extensive experience in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, or computer vision.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or R, with expertise in relevant libraries and frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and mentor team members effectively.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and big data technologies.
