Clinical Research Associate (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and independent Clinical Research Associate (CRA) to join their global clinical operations team, working remotely from anywhere within South Africa . This role is essential for managing and monitoring clinical trials to ensure they are conducted, recorded, and reported in accordance with protocol, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines. You will be responsible for site selection, initiation, monitoring, and close-out visits, ensuring data integrity and patient safety. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned CRA looking for a fully remote position with a respected pharmaceutical organization committed to advancing healthcare through rigorous clinical research.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits (selection, initiation, interim monitoring, and close-out) as required by the clinical trial protocol and company SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including GCP, ICH guidelines, and local regulations.
• Verify the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of clinical data through source data verification.
• Train and support study site staff on protocol requirements, study procedures, and data collection.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clinical trial sites, fostering strong working relationships.
• Identify, resolve, or elevate site-level issues and deviations promptly.
• Prepare monitoring reports and communicate findings and action plans to study management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a life science, nursing, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA) in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Demonstrated knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines, and clinical trial conduct.
• Proven ability to manage multiple clinical trial sites and complex protocols independently.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in clinical trial management systems (CTMS) and electronic data capture (EDC) systems.
