Telecoms Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a hands‑on Telecoms Infrastructure Specialist to manage and maintain their physical and logical network infrastructure in Sandton . This role requires a deep understanding of telecommunications hardware, including cabling, power, cooling, and rack infrastructure, as well as the associated network devices. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and availability of the company's core network assets. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail‑oriented individual with a strong background in physical infrastructure management within the telecom sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain data center and network room infrastructure , including cabling, power distribution, and environmental controls.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware components.
• Perform regular audits of infrastructure assets, ensuring accurate inventory and compliance.
• Collaborate with network engineers and IT teams to plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
• Respond to infrastructure-related incidents and ensure timely resolution to minimize service impact.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Infrastructure Specialist or in a similar role within a telecommunications environment.
• Strong knowledge of data center operations, including power, cooling, and physical security.
• Hands‑on experience with network cabling (copper and fiber) and associated termination and testing equipment.
• Understanding of network hardware components and their interdependencies.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adhere to strict operational procedures.
