Event Chef - Outside Catering

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and adaptable Event Chef with a focus on outside catering for diverse events across the Eastern Cape , including Port Elizabeth . This contract position requires a chef who can manage all aspects of culinary production for off-site events, from menu design and ingredient sourcing to on-site preparation and execution. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, delicious food in various settings, ensuring client satisfaction and upholding the company's reputation for excellence in external catering services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design creative and appealing menus tailored to specific client requirements and event types.
• Manage all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation for off-site catering events.
• Source high-quality ingredients from reliable suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee kitchen logistics, including equipment transport, setup, and breakdown at event locations.
• Ensure adherence to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards during preparation and service.
• Communicate effectively with clients and event planners to ensure seamless execution.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Event Chef or in a similar high-volume catering role, with a strong portfolio.
• Expertise in various culinary styles and ability to adapt to different event themes and dietary needs.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for off-site catering.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage resources effectively.
• Must possess reliable transportation and be willing to travel within the Eastern Cape region.
