Legal Advisor - Employment Law
Our client is seeking a dedicated Legal Advisor with expertise in Employment Law to join their remote legal team, supporting operations in Benoni . This crucial role involves providing guidance on all aspects of the employment relationship, from recruitment and onboarding to termination and compliance with labor legislation. You will play a key part in drafting employment contracts, advising on disciplinary processes, and mitigating labor-related risks. The ideal candidate is proactive, possesses excellent communication skills, and is adept at navigating the complexities of South African labor law from a remote work setting, contributing to a fair and compliant workplace within Gauteng . Key Responsibilities Advise management on all employment law matters, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and terminations. Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures. Represent the company in CCMA and Bargaining Council disputes, arbitrations, and conciliations. Provide guidance on disciplinary hearings, grievance procedures, and investigations. Ensure compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, and other relevant legislation. Develop and deliver training to HR and management on employment law topics. Conduct legal research on evolving employment law landscape. Requirements Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in Employment Law. In-depth knowledge of South African labor legislation, including the LRA, BCEA, and EEA. Proven experience in handling employment disputes, negotiations, and litigation. Excellent drafting skills for employment-related documents and policies. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a pragmatic approach.
