About the Role Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Lead 3D Modeler to join their creative team in Mossel Bay. This hybrid role focuses on creating high-fidelity 3D models for product visualization, marketing materials, and virtual showcases. You will guide a team of modelers, ensuring the accuracy, detail, and aesthetic quality of all assets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of 3D modeling techniques, materials, and texturing, combined with leadership skills to foster a collaborative and productive environment, balancing on-site creative direction with remote team coordination. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of 3D modelers, providing technical guidance and ensuring the delivery of high-quality 3D assets. Create detailed and accurate 3D models of products, environments, and props based on reference materials, CAD data, or specifications. Develop realistic textures and materials to enhance the visual fidelity and appeal of 3D models. Optimize 3D models for various applications, including real-time rendering, animation, and interactive experiences. Collaborate closely with art directors, designers, and marketing teams to achieve the desired visual outcomes. Implement and maintain efficient modeling workflows and best practices within the team. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a 3D Modeler, with a strong portfolio showcasing realistic product or architectural visualization. Expert proficiency in industry-standard 3D modeling software such as Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, or similar. In-depth knowledge of texturing and material creation techniques using software like Substance Painter or Photoshop. Strong understanding of topology, UV mapping, and optimization strategies for complex models. Proven leadership or supervisory experience, with excellent communication and team management skills.
