About the Role Our client seeks a dynamic and experienced educator to lead the English Department at a prominent high school in Cape Town . This leadership position involves overseeing the curriculum, managing a team of English teachers, and ensuring the highest standards of literary education for students. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the English Department, including curriculum development, resource allocation, and staff supervision. Teach advanced English literature and language courses, inspiring students to excel in their studies. Implement innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes in Cape Town . Conduct regular performance reviews for department staff and provide mentorship and professional development opportunities. Collaborate with other department heads and school administration to align educational strategies and promote a holistic student experience. Requirements Master's degree in English Literature, Linguistics, or Education. Minimum of 7 years of experience in teaching English at the secondary or tertiary level, with at least 2 years in a leadership or Head of Department role. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design and implementation for English language and literature. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
