About the Role Our client seeks a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in automotive components to join their dedicated team in Klerksdorp . You will play a key part in the entire product development cycle, from conceptualization to series production, ensuring designs are optimized for performance, cost, and manufacturability. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of complex automotive mechanical components and sub-systems. Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) for 3D modeling, surfacing, and detailed part design. Perform advanced analysis such as FEA , CFD, and thermal simulations to optimize component performance and durability. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including powertrain, chassis, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure integrated system design. Manage product development timelines, supplier relationships, and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) activities. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 8+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a specialization in automotive components. Expertise in 3D CAD software (CATIA V5/V6 preferred) and FEA analysis tools. Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards. Proven ability to manage projects from concept to production within a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
