About the Role Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Telecoms Network Planner to join their forward-thinking team in Pretoria. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the long-term strategic planning and evolution of the company’s telecommunications network. You will analyze network capacity, forecast future demands, and develop detailed expansion plans to support business growth and technological advancements. This position requires a blend of technical acumen, analytical prowess, and the ability to influence strategic decisions, contributing significantly to the company’s future network capabilities. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain long-term network capacity plans and technology roadmaps for telecoms infrastructure. Analyze network performance data, traffic trends, and business forecasts to identify future network requirements. Design scalable and resilient network architectures that align with strategic business objectives. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure alignment and feasibility of network plans. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and vendor solutions to enhance network capabilities and efficiency. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate network plans and recommendations to senior management. Requirements Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. 8+ years of experience in telecommunications network planning, design, or architecture. Deep understanding of various network technologies, including fiber optics, wireless (4G/5G), IP networking, and MPLS. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in network planning tools and capacity management techniques. Experience with financial modeling and business case development for network investments.
