Senior Chemist - Organic Synthesis

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Chemist with a specialization in Organic Synthesis to join their innovative research and development team in Nelspruit. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute complex multi-step organic syntheses of novel target molecules.
• Develop and optimize synthetic routes for improved efficiency, yield, and scalability.
• Characterize synthesized compounds using advanced analytical techniques (NMR, MS, HPLC, etc.).
• Troubleshoot synthetic challenges and propose innovative solutions to overcome obstacles.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues in process chemistry, analytical chemistry, and R&D.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in organic synthesis.
• Proven track record of successfully synthesizing complex organic molecules.
• Proficiency in modern synthetic methodologies and purification techniques.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities for a hybrid work setting.
