Geological Wellsite Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Geological Wellsite Supervisor to oversee geological operations for drilling projects in and around George. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of geological data collected at the wellsite and supervising the geological team. This role demands a strong presence on location, coupled with the ability to analyze real-time data and communicate effectively with the drilling and operations teams. You will play a vital part in ensuring the success of exploration and development drilling campaigns, contributing to the company's exploration efforts in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide the wellsite geology team, ensuring adherence to geological programs and safety standards.
• Oversee the collection, logging, and analysis of geological samples, including core and cuttings.
• Monitor drilling progress and interpret geological formations in real-time to inform drilling decisions.
• Ensure accurate data acquisition and reporting of all geological information from the wellsite.
• Communicate effectively with drilling engineers, geologists, and management regarding geological observations and potential risks.
• Manage wellsite laboratory equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in wellsite geology or a related field, with supervisory experience.
• Proven understanding of drilling operations and geological logging techniques.
• Experience with geological software for data visualization and interpretation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
