Equipment Service Technician

About the Role

Our client is actively recruiting for a skilled Equipment Service Technician to serve clients in and around Nelspruit. This role is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of various types of equipment through scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs. You will be responsible for attending to service calls, performing complex troubleshooting, and providing expert technical support directly at client sites. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to delivering high-quality service within the Installation & Maintenance sector, maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, preventative servicing, and emergency repairs on a range of equipment.


• Diagnose technical issues using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment, identifying root causes of malfunctions.


• Execute repairs efficiently and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.


• Maintain accurate and detailed service records, including parts used and time spent on each job.


• Provide clients with guidance on equipment operation and basic preventative care.


• Stay updated on product information and service techniques relevant to the industry.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Equipment Service Technician or in a similar technical role within Installation & Maintenance.


• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills.


• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.


• Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools.


• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently.


• Must possess a valid driver's license and be prepared to travel to client locations in the Nelspruit area.
