Senior Mine Geologist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Mine Geologist to join their established team in Sandton . This pivotal role involves contributing significantly to the geological understanding and resource evaluation of their mining assets. You will be responsible for geological mapping, core logging, data analysis, and liaising with mine planning and operations teams to optimize resource extraction. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological mapping, sampling, and core logging for exploration and resource definition.
• Perform geological data analysis and interpretation to delineate ore bodies and estimate resources.
• Collaborate closely with mine planning and engineering teams to provide geological input for mine design and production.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and geological models for internal stakeholders and management.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior geological staff.
• Ensure adherence to geological best practices, data quality standards, and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology or a related earth science discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in mine geology, exploration, or resource estimation.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine, Datamine).
• Strong understanding of structural geology, mineral deposit types, and geological data management.
• Experience in statistical analysis and resource estimation techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.
