Reservoir Simulation Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Reservoir Simulation Analyst to join their technical team, supporting operations near Upington, Northern Cape . This role is integral to understanding and predicting reservoir performance by building, calibrating, and running complex reservoir simulation models. You will work closely with reservoir engineers to test development scenarios, evaluate the impact of operational changes, and provide crucial data for decision-making in the Oil & Gas industry . This position offers the chance to work with advanced modeling techniques and contribute to strategic asset management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed reservoir simulation models .
• Calibrate simulation models using historical production data, well tests, and geological information.
• Run various simulation scenarios to forecast reservoir performance under different development plans.
• Analyze simulation results to identify opportunities for production optimization and enhanced recovery.
• Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations on simulation findings for technical and management audiences.
• Support reservoir engineers in developing integrated field development strategies for assets near Upington .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in reservoir simulation or reservoir engineering with a focus on modeling.
• Proficiency in industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, Tempest, CMG).
• Strong understanding of reservoir engineering principles, fluid flow in porous media, and numerical methods.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
