Senior Animator - 3D Character Animation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Animator to bring characters to life through exceptional 3D animation for exciting projects in the Arts & Entertainment sector in Port Elizabeth. This role requires a deep understanding of character performance, anatomy, and motion principles, coupled with technical proficiency in animation software. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality animation sequences that captivate audiences and contribute to the overall narrative and artistic vision of our productions, working within a collaborative studio environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality, engaging 3D character animations for film, games, or other media projects.
• Collaborate with directors, art leads, and other animators to interpret character personalities and ensure cohesive animation style.
• Work with rigging and technical teams to troubleshoot and optimize character rigs for animation.
• Incorporate feedback from reviews and iterations to refine animation performances.
• Mentor junior animators and contribute to the studio's animation best practices.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a 3D Animator, with a strong focus on character animation.
• A compelling portfolio or demo reel showcasing exceptional character animation skills.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D animation software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, acting, cinematography, and storytelling.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet project deadlines in Port Elizabeth.
