About the Role Our client is looking for a skilled and empathetic Therapist to join their dedicated Addiction Services team in Bloemfontein . This role is central to providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. You will work directly with clients to develop treatment plans, facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, and support them through their recovery journey. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans for clients with addiction issues. Provide individual therapy, utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Facilitate psychoeducational and support group sessions for clients and their families. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical professionals and case managers, to ensure integrated care. Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards. Offer crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute withdrawal or emotional distress. Requirements Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. Relevant professional registration (e.g., HPCSA for Psychologists, SACSSP for Social Workers). Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in addiction counseling or therapy. Proficiency in various therapeutic techniques for addiction and mental health treatment. Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening skills.
