Mechanical Systems Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to join their operational team in Bloemfontein . This role is integral to the design, development, and implementation of complex mechanical systems that support the company's core operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical designs are robust, efficient, and meet high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a practical understanding of engineering principles, contributing to the reliability and performance of systems within the Free State region, working within a supportive and technically focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer mechanical systems and components, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and project requirements.
• Conduct stress analysis, thermal analysis, and other relevant engineering calculations to validate designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and maintenance teams to ensure designs are practical and easily producible/maintainable.
• Develop detailed technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Troubleshoot mechanical system issues and implement effective solutions to improve performance and reliability.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to support project goals in Bloemfontein .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and systems engineering.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and basic simulation tools.
• Solid understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment in Bloemfontein .
